CLAY WILD MUNLEY

is a fiercely inventive, non-binary interdisciplinary artist, deviser, and intimacy director whose work challenges traditional boundaries of movement, queer embodiment, and theatrical invention. Based between Brooklyn and New Jersey, Clay creates experimental and absurdist worlds that center gender-queer bodies and radical intimacy in narrative. Their career reflects a deep commitment to embodied storytelling. With roots in major New York theatre institutions, Clay has assisted at Off-Broadway venues such as Mabou Mines, Under St. Marks, and TheatreLab. Awarded the Denis Diderot Grant for their research in intimacy direction and queer performance, Clay has collaborated with renowned companies including The New York Neo-Futurists, Two River Theater, and The Second City, working alongside notable directors and performers. Beyond theatre, they are a writer, visual artist, and community organizer whose bold, queer-first perspective reimagines theatrical form—inviting audiences not just to watch, but to feel differently.
